The Rewriters app offers walking tours through various neighbourhoods of Rotterdam, guiding you to the most interesting and beautiful street art pieces in the city. These walks take about an hour and a half and show you the many surprising sides of Europe’s main port city. All tours are updated multiple times per year, to keep you up to date regarding the latest developments in Rotterdam street art. Updates of the routes are always provided for free.

Rewriters gives you background information on each of the murals, shows you the newest murals to appear in the city, and informs you about notable works that have disappeared throughout the years. The information is available in Dutch and English, in spoken and written form. Each route can be saved offline, so you can enjoy your guided tours without using an internet connection and data usage.

Besides that, the app also keeps you up to date about the latest street art news. New art projects being developed, in-depth interviews with (inter)nationally renowned artists and the latest facts about festivals like POW! WOW! Rotterdam you can find under the ‘Latest News’ tab in the app. Do you have hot tips for our editors? Scroll down below in the main menu and share them with us!

Don’t want to walk the whole tour? No problem. You can start at any point in Rotterdam. The app will locate the nearest artwork, and start the tour from there.

Please note: the app makes use of your GPS location. This may lower your phone’s battery more quickly than usual. To save battery life, we advise you to save the desired tour for offline use beforehand, and lower the brightness of your screen during use.
